In accordance with the Plenary Session of the General Council of the Judiciary of 20 April 2022 Javier Sempere Samaniego was named Data Protection Commissioner

The Officer exercises advisory and supervisory functions as regulated by Article 39 of the General Data Protection Regulation. These functions concern the processing of personal data by the General Council of the Judiciary in exercising its activity as a body under the Spanish Constitution. This processing mainly involves personal data published on the Council’s website:
Data subjects may contact the Officer concerning the processing of their personal data and to exercise their rights before the CGPJ.
The Officer acts as a point of contact with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
The Officer’s functions do not cover the processing of personal data by courts and tribunals.
