Spanish Judicial Network (REJUE)

The Spanish Judicial Network for International Cooperation (REJUE) is governed by Regulation 1/2018 on international judicial assistance and international judicial cooperation networks, approved by the Agreement of 27 September 2018 of the Plenary Session of the General Council of the Judiciary (Official State Gazette, no. 249 of 15/10/2018).

The REJUE is comprised of highly specialised Judges and Magistrates, distributed throughout national territory, who are grouped into two divisions: one civil and the other criminal, with each division having approximately 30 members.

The International Relations Service of the General Council of the Judiciary is responsible for the coordination of the Network and its adequate running.

REJUE Meetings.

The members of the Spanish Judicial Network have been meeting annually at the gatherings known as REJUE Meetings, which take place in Águilas (Murcia), under the coordination of the International Relations Service of the General Council of the Judiciary, and within the framework of the European Judicial Studies Forum, based in the aforementioned Autonomous Community.

At those Meetings, the REJUE members, together with the contact points of the Spanish Ministry of Justice and the State Prosecution Service, as well as other international players involved in international judicial cooperation – European and Latin-American, belonging to PECOS countries, and Moroccan – as special guests of the General Council of the Judiciary, study and prepare documents relating to the improvement of international judicial cooperation, in symposia including both common sessions for the civil and penal divisions, and specific sessions for each one of them, where specialised groups debate in workshops the subjects entrusted to them. An interrelation activity between civil and penal networks to provide all its members – regardless of their specialization – with a global vision of the international judicial cooperation mechanisms and their novelties is also included.
