Composition

The high court consists of seven courts:

  • One Civil and Criminal Court
  • Three Contentious Administrative Courts
  • Three Labour Courts

Its functional structure consists in a Chief Justice who is also the Chief Justice of the Civil and Criminal Divisions, of the Division Chief Justices and Judges established by law for each division and where applicable, of the Sections into which each Division may divided.

It is presided over by a president (Lorenzo del Río Fernández), who is also president of the civil and criminal court. The president is considered a magistrate of the Supreme Court until he/she ceases to perform the duties of the aforesaid post.
