The expression "Number of accused or indicted parties" refers to the parties under investigation against whom, upon completion of all the procedures considered necessary by the investigating court, a ruling for indictment has been issued in the investigation summary proceedings or order to open an oral trial in the summary or jury trial proceedings.

The data on each indicted or accused party is counted solely in the quarter in which the ruling for indictment or order to open an oral trial is issued.

The report contains information on the ordinary (investigation summary), summary and Jury Trial proceedings, which, after completing investigations, are sent to the courts responsible for prosecution (Criminal Courts, Provincial Courts, Central Criminal Courts, Chambers for Civil and Criminal Matters of the High Courts of Justice, Criminal Chamber of the National High Court and Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court).

Proceedings that are received at the trial court are considered to be admitted. 

The procedures that were provisionally closed and whose processing was subsequently continued are considered to be reopened.

Proceedings that are referred by the trial court to the examining Judge for procedures to be undertaken are considered to be returned to the examining court.

Procedures in which a judgment has been issued or an order has been issued ending the matter before the trial is held are considered to be resolved.
