There can be no doubt that this site is being launched by the courts and tribunals of Extremadura as a service to the citizens. Our Constitution advocates justice and national sovereignty as a fundamental right of the people, from which the powers of the State and the Judiciary – made up of Judges and Magistrates – arise.

To administer justice, which emanates from the actual people and is carried out by the holders of legal authority judging and ordering the execution of the sentences, is not an easy task, nor always understood, and that can even be unrewarding, but is always inherent to the rule of law.

As Cadalso already stated in his Moroccan Letters “»The gown is a no less hard task. Lengthy dry and surly studies consume the judge’s youth, followed by a continuous effort and the abandonment of fun, and later, until his death, the daily obligation to pass judgement on other people’s lives and property, in accordance with an obscure text of doubtful sense and thorough interpretation, always subjected to the malice of all those who fall under the rod of justice. And hence, should there not be judges, nor anyone following a profession so similar to the divine essence, in rewarding what is right and punishing what is wrong?»

This website has been opened to serve the people in Extremadura and to ease the daily task of media professionals.
