Open Days

Each autumn since 2005, the Supreme Court invites the public to visit during its Open Days. They give you a chance to get to know what the Court is like inside and how the Justice system works at the highest level. The next edition will be held in October 2024.

The Open Days are an excellent opportunity to discover the historical and artistic heritage of the Palacio de las Salesas, the seat of the High Court, on guided tours through its most outstanding spaces: the former Regional Court, the Plenary Hall (Salón de Plenos), the Lobby of lost steps (Salón de Pasos Perdidos) and the official office of the President of the Supreme Court, known as the Rotunda (Rotonda).

They are also an opportunity for the Justice system to open up to society, beginning with the citizens of tomorrow. The Open Days will also feature special children’s activities, such as dramatisations of trials that allow them to join in as protagonists for their first experience of the world of the courts and to learn about their rights.

The Open Days are also an excellent opportunity to showcase the people that work at Supreme Court. Citizens need to know who makes the decisions that affect them, what their work consists of and how they carry it out. That’s why these events are so important, to give citizens the opportunity to meet Supreme Court judges and Technical Office lawyers to ask them questions.

Admission to the Palace of Justice is free of charge. All you have to do is show your identity card or passport.

At the Supreme Court, we firmly believe that the justice we impart is a service to society that must be based on two essential foundations: transparency and approachability. That’s why these Open Days are so important to us. We look forward to seeing you!

The Open Days will also be on the web and social media.

If you can’t come to the Supreme Court in person, you can follow the Open Days on our website, www.poderjudicial.es. You can download the brochure, follow the activities programme, and take the Palace of Justice virtual tour.

The virtual tour is available in Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque, English and French for computers, tablets, and smartphones. You can explore the High Court building’s main rooms with panoramic photographic views and access information about them and the artworks on display.

There are special itineraries for children -also in different languages- set up as an escape game that challenges them with quizzes about the history of the Supreme Court and the world of the Judiciary before they can move on from one room to another.
