Salary regime for Senior Officials in 2023

Legislation applied: Ley 31/2022, de 23 de diciembre, de Presupuestos Generales del Estado, para el año 2023

  • President:

The 2023 budget allocates the following gross remunerations to the Presidency of the General Council of the Judiciary:

  • Salary (14 monthly payments): 30.723,00
  • Other remunerations (12 monthly payments): 120.463,20
  • Annual Total: 151.186,20
  • Salary increments for three-year periods of service (14 monthly payments): The amount that corresponds to the number and Body of origin, if appropriate.

 

  • Member:

The 2023 budget allocates the following gross remunerations to the members of the Standing Committee of the General Council of the Judiciary (Article 579.2 of Law 4/2013, of 28 June, on reform of the General Council of the Judiciary):

  • Salary (14 monthly payments): 32.530,40
  • Other remunerations (12 monthly payments): 97.860,00
  • Annual Total: 130.390,40
  • Salary increments for three-year periods of service (14 monthly payments): The amount that corresponds to the number and Body of origin, if appropriate.
  • Seniority supplement (12 monthly payments): In a meeting held on 25 February 1998, the Plenary Session of the General Council of the Judiciary made the following decision: "To approve the payment of a seniority supplement to the Members whose gross annual salary accruals after three-year periods of service come to less than the amount corresponding to five salary increments for three-year periods of service in the Judicial Career. Said seniority supplement shall be the minimum amount required at any given time to complete the difference". The monthly amount to be paid for the aforementioned seniority supplement shall correspond to five salary increments for three-year periods of service in the Judicial Career. In the 2023 financial year, it came to 507,44 euros per month.

The members of the General Council of the Judiciary who fulfil their position on a non-exclusive basis shall only receive the travel expenses for attending the Plenary Session or the Committees, stipulated at 975 euros and 312 euros, respectively, with no entitlement to further remuneration for the position of Member, with the exception of any compensations for services that may be due to them. Members of the judicial career assigned to the Economic Affairs, Equality and Disciplinary Commissions will continue to receive the ordinary remuneration corresponding to the position they hold in the exercise of their jurisdictional functions at the expense of the Ministry of Justice in accordance with Law 15/2003, of 26th May 2003, regulating the remuneration system of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Careers.

The 2023 budget allocates the following gross remunerations to the Secretary General of the General Council of the Judiciary:

  • Salary (14 monthly payments): 31.160,92
  • Other remunerations (12 monthly payments): 96.223,68
  • Annual Total: 127.384,60
  • Salary increments for three-year periods of service (14 monthly payments): The amount that corresponds to the number and Body of origin, if appropriate.
