Opinions
One of the crucial tasks of the Ibero-American Commission for Judicial Ethics is to draw up opinions at the request of the judiciaries of the Summit or at its own initiative.
In accordance with article 83 of the Ibero-American Code of Judicial Ethics, the objective of the Ibero-American Commission for Judicial Ethics is to advise the different Judiciaries and National Councils of the Judiciary within Ibero-America or the actual Judicial Summit, when requested by its representatives. Thus, it is responsible for resolving the consultations put forth by Commissioners or Delegates as to whether the behaviour of public officials representing justice-dispensing bodies respects Judicial Ethics. Furthermore, when the internal judicial ethics bodies of each nation have resolved issues of this nature, they may also request the opinion of the Ibero-American Commission .
To a great extent, the opinions and reports issued by theCommission legitimate and justify its existence.
