Some specific sections dedicated to obtaining data related to the trials on the matter of Domestic Violence, to the Order of Protection and to the Civil Trials derived from the Order of Protection followed in the courts with competence in Family, were incorporated in 2004 into the statistic bulletins of the CGPJ (General Council of Judiciary). Subsequently in 2005 it’s been necessary to adapt the Statistic Bulletins to the novelties introduced into the Comprehensive Law (Ley Integral).

With the creation of the new Courts the elaboration of a new Bulletin was decided, dedicated only to the subject of gender violence and that, from the 29th of June, 2005 and with a quarterly periodicity, all the Courts of Violence upon Women must remit to, with exclusive competitors and with shared competitors to the CGPJ for their statistic treatment.

Since January 2006 specific sections have been introduced into the Bulletins of the Criminal Courts and the Provincial Hearings, so as to be able to count with information of the activity of these organs in relation with gender violence regulated by the Comprehensive Law (Ley Integral). Also in 2007 new data has been introduced which allows an approach to aspects which have been considered of a precise measurement, like the amount of quarterly denunciations which are interposed and the amount of renunciations to the continuation of the process.

The statistics are published quarterly detached by Superior Courts of Law, provinces and judicial parties about denunciations, protection orders, adopted measures, indicted people and form of ending of the procedures.
