The Observatory against domestic and gender violence plays an effective role in analysing the response of the justice system to this criminal phenomenon. It also allows new proposals to be put forward with a view to improving legislation and the operation of judicial bodies.
The Law against gender violence of 2004, and the Law on equal rights of 2007, are key legislative instruments for putting into practice the constitutional values concerning the protection of human dignity and the genuine achievement of equal opportunities for men and women. All the institutions that make up the Observatory are fully committed to this goal.
As president, I am certain that we will succeed.The new generations will live in a fairer, more equal society.
